The Maplewood Richmond Heights school district is
enjoying an unprecedented period of sustained growth. More families than ever
are taking steps to enroll their children in MRH schools. Our reputation for
educational equity and instructional excellence is widely known and well earned.
Now, we must take steps to ensure that our learning spaces are adequate in the
face of these growing demands.
Late last summer, a committee of parents, businesspeople,
MRH staff, and other stakeholders was convened. This Long-Range Planning Task
Force met on four occasions throughout the 2019 fall semester to study
historical trends in student population, the changing demographics of the
district and the current options for keeping our school buildings both safe and
inspirational.
In the coming months, MRH will host three Town Hall
gatherings to brief citizens on the expected needs at each of our campuses. We
will discuss options and priorities, and we will solicit your opinions and
advice.
The Town Halls will take place on the following dates and
locations:
Wednesday, January 22, 2020 -- 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., MRH
High School/Middle School Theatre, 7539 Manchester Road, Maplewood, MO 63143
Wednesday, February 12, 2020 -- 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., MRH
Elementary School Gymnasium, 1800 Princeton Place, Richmond Heights, MO 63117
Tuesday, March 24, 2020 -- 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, MRH Early
Childhood Center Gymnasium, 2801 Oakland Avenue, Maplewood, MO 63143
Each Town Hall will feature presentations by members of the Board of Education. Principals from all buildings will attend each session, as will representatives from Ittner Architects, MRH’s partner in the needs assessment process.
We sincerely hope you will attend.
