07/12/2022 04:58 PM

Maplewood Public Library will be hosting a cornhole tournament at Ryan Hummert Park on Friday, September 2nd at 6pm. All proceeds will go towards building improvements, new materials, and programming for adults and children.

Over the past two years, Maplewood Public Library has put a focus on expanding services, becoming more involved in the community, and impvoring the visitor experience. Some of the ways we have done this is by:
-Offering free copying and printing services
-Circulating wireless hotspots and fishing poles (knitting needles coming soon!)
-Working with area organizations to build a mini food pantry on the Library's property
-Putting a focus on diversity in our collections and programming, and offering outreach services at events such a local Pride and Juneteenth festivals
-Offering reference services to dozens of incarcerated individuals to provide them with information to better their lives

Funds raised at the tournament will go towards keeping the Library involved in activities like those listed above, offering enrichment activities such as the Summer Reading Program, and completing much needed building improvments such as painting and waterproofing.

More fun offered at this event:
-Live music from The Riverside Wanderers
-Play area for kids under 10

-Chips and soda, plus food provided by St. Louis Kolache (bringing your own cooler is welcome)
